I wasn’t sure where to post this question but as it’s sort of in preparation for bonding I figured I’d put it here:
As you may know, I have two bunnies – they’ve been separated for about a week and a half now, they each have a side of the living room with pen panels used to partition it. I was ‘doubling up’ with pen panels with a gap of a few inches between so that the buns couldn’t actually touch each other. Buttercup has since been spayed so mating/getting pregnant through the bars isn’t a concern. Anyway, is it safe to just use one set of pen panels now rather than doubling up? So they can touch each other. It’s how they are currently though we are here to supervise and all they do is sniff one another through the bars, although Peanut has lightly nipped Buttercup’s face a few times (never enough to break skin or hurt her or warrant a response from her) Then they lose interest in one another) No signs of aggression or noises being made. What do you think?
Peanut is to be neutered in a week and I will start bonding a month afterwards.
