  Hi everyone. I recently took in a rescue baby. I’ve been looking for a companion for him when I found a person who has two adult female rabbits. They are currently not spayed and don’t currently get along.
  
  The baby I have is a male, and when he’s old enough I will have him neutered. I was wondering what the likelihood would be of the two females getting along once spayed (they are living side by side now) and if they could be bonded with the baby boy and all live together happily at some point?
  
  I know nothing about this so I really am looking for tips and advice. I’d like to take both females because they are flemish giants and currently each living in a 30″X30″ cage and the one I don’t take she’s planning to take to a feed store to sell and they don’t care who they sell to there, so I’d like to give them both a good home rather than potentially let one go to a home that won’t provide proper care for them.

  I guess my problem would be this – there is no guarantee that the females would even bond with each other much less with your new little one.
  
  There is certainly ALWAYS the possibility that they will eventually get along together but you cannot count on it happening. So you may have to be prepared to keep everyone separate or only have a bonded pair and a single rabbit. It’s always difficult to tell what will really happen in a scenario like this.

  Yeah. I was actually thinking about asking her if we could go ahead and have the girls spayed and see how they do together. If they get to a point where they are getting along, I could add the new guy and go from there. Am I correct in assuming that it would be easier to bond an adult with a baby than two adults or does it all just depend on the personalities involved?

  Don’t bond the baby. Wait until he is adult and neutered. babies evolve, and personality can change drastically, which could definitely break any kind of bond formed while still beign a baby.

  Ok. She is going to have them spayed Monday. She said they got along fine until about six months then started having issues, so I am hoping it is a hormonal thing that will be remedied with a spay. Thanks!
