Purring??

 So when petting cady I notice he does the light teeth grinding…Im pretty sure its because he enjoys it but sometimes when we attempt to pick him up he’ll do it as well…Im pretty sure he isnt a huge fan of being held so can this mean something else under the circumstances?  and while Im asking, is it possible Rabbits recognize one people for different things?  its seems as though Cady listens more to my boyfriend when he says no, but wont listen to me! lol

Rabbits can grind their teeth out of pain or discomfort, in addition to doing it while you’re petting them. Usually when they’re in pain they’ll be hunched up in the corner and showing other signs. He could be doing it when you pick him up because I doesn’t like it and is trying to tell you that – unfortunately his vocabulary isn’t very big and he uses the same teeth grinding that he does when he’s happy. haha

Sure, rabbits can tell people apart and seemingly prefer some people to others.

In all the years I’ve owned rabbits, I’ve never figured out why they love some people but don’t seem to like others. (aside from the obvious things like startling them, smelling like dogs vs respecting their space etc). For example, the guy who cleans out my chimney uses this big, VERY LOUD contraption to do so. And he only comes around once a year. You’d think Rosie and Alex would be hiding as far away as possible from him. But nooooo, they LOVE him. I have to block off the doorway so they don’t bother him when he’s working. He’s never given them an ounce of attention. I have no idea why they love this guy!

my girls grind their teeth or “purr” when i pick them up, Twix does it cause she’s scared, and Hershey does it cause she’s a suck so it depends on the bunny.

Spencer tooth purrs when I pick him up too. I have no idea why, I imagine it being his way of saying, “Look how cute and nice I am! Please don’t do that thing with my toe nails. I’m cute! Don’t hurt me! You wouldn’t torture a bunny that likes you and is as cute and sweet as me! Look how cute I am!” It’s probably not, but that’s how I think of it.

Oh yes, Sniffers purrs when he’s happy. This is my first time here so I have to tell you all about him. OK, I’ll save some for later. But, he’s the most friendly lovable rabbit I’ve ever met. Instead of hiding when we have guests over, he has to be the center of attention and will lie on the floor right in the middle of everyone. When grandma and grandpa come over, he circles their feet ’til they love him up. He gives kisses when asked and solicits them when he feels the need. He loves being held and snuggled. He’s still my daughter’s baby though because he lets her hold him on her lap on his back like a little baby. He will even eat carrots in that position (though we don’t let him do that for long because I’m afraid he will choke). He will lie there on his back and purr for her. He will also purr while she holds him on her chest and he licks her neck. I thought only cats purred, but nope. He’s also a little stinker because when I tell him no (like no chewing on the couch), he binkies and hops a few feet away, waiting for me to chase him. If I tell him I’m going to “get” him, he binkies and teases me to chase him more. He’s really made me see the wonderful personality a bunny can have.

 lol Im jealous! But that sounds like an amazing bunny! Cady will only be held when he feels like it, otherwise its foot-flicks for me! but you pet him under his chin or hit the right spot behind his ears and hes none stop purring, also if you give him kisses on the nose and forehead.  sophie is a mush and purrs for anything, shes a bit scared of people initially but after a few minutes she starts following like a lost puppy!
