I was on the couch and Leila decided to hop next to me and make weird humming sounds. Very weird. Purring maybe? That means they’re happy right…?… I know it means happy in cat language lol. Idk she didn’t seem overly happy than usual… she’s really bouncy and brave and curious…which leads to another question, once she gets spayed (maybe idk 5 yr too old..) will this….busy, brave, curious behaviour..etc all change/stop? I like it cuz she acts like a youngster and climbs on anything and everything I know rabbits usually are less aggressive and stop spraying and mellow out so I guess it will change?

I’m hoping to get her spayed as soon as possible. I don’t think her horomones have calmed down as she’s having phantom pregnancies and is pulling out fur on the side of her belly as far as I can tell. No bald/sore patches I can see and she seems like a generally happy rabbit (so i don’t think she’d be trying to inflict pain on herself). These pregnancies have been happening with her revious owners too. They thought it was due to stress.

Ahhh unspayed-that purring sound, is a love noise…Bet she thinks your her girlfriend!

Not that once she’s spayed she won’t love you-she will!! But humming/buzzing is usually an indication that kind of love/horomones are present

It’s definitely a good idea to get her spayed-glad you are planning on it!

It’s really not certain how different they’ll be, if at all, after a spay or neuter. Most buns tend to be the same way that they’ve always been. Some mellow a little bit and some others change personality significantly. None of which should really worry you because buns will be buns and they NEVER stop loving you – even when they give you the stink eye and the butt.

Both Maryann and Dono are VERY active buns even after their surgeries and Maryann is a very loving bunny. Dono hates me but I’m working on it. Actually got to pet him on his forehead for about 20 seconds the other day while he was in his cage! Only took me a year.

              Thanks for the replies!

lol, well I think Pudge has stopped.. cuz when he was little he always wanted to play and run around. We got him neutered, than we got him a girlfriend and I guess I replaced myself…as he wants nothing to do with me. Even today, his mate passed away and he still wants nothing to do with me. He just likes to keep to himself. He’s to good for his Ol’ owner lol.

Yeesh. I prefer not to have a bunny girlfriend.

That explains why she licked my hand I guess. Today when she was playing there many more purring sounds and she did a bunch of circles around me. Even decided to give my face a bunch of bunny kisses. Crazy thing. Can’t even call the vet yet…they open again Monday. Counting down the days till we can get her spayed.
