Well if it is from the can. CHECK the ingredients. No animal products, dairy, or meat (You’ll never know).

If you feed from the can, then it is considering as treat because it contain high in sugar.

If raw pumpkin, you can feed him like once a week or every other three or two days. (I could be wrong, so don’t 100% trust me this one)

The canned pumpkin (100% pumpkin as Taurus said) is a food used in the sustenance of sick rabbits, who are off their normal feed.

Yep – I use it as a small treat to get my bun to take her medication.  Smoosh up the meds in a tsp of canned pumpkin and she’ll nom it all right off teh plate.

I make freezer pops of pumpkin in ice cube trays. I can microwave them to defrost, and they can last quite a while in the freezer in a air tight container. Mine get canned pumpkin during shedding times when hairballs can be more common, it’s full of fiber.
I have found pumpkin also a great addition in bunny cookie dough, or dog treats as well.

Just make sure it contains no spices or other additives, like someone already said. I’m not sure if rabbits are the same as hedgehogs, but when hedgies have loose stools, canned pumpkin can help solidify them again, so it might actually be beneficial if fed to your buns in limited quantities.
