I read online that rabbits can have pumpkin seeds.  I didn’t see it listed on the House Rabbit safe food list. Is it ok to feed raw pumpkin seeds and if so how much?

        If not…

I am looking for a training treat that I can leave on my stand.  I have small pieces of dried papaya and raisins but I read they should have very little fruit a day.

Can rabbits have the apple oat treats made for horses?

Zeke is an 8 month old mini red buck about 4 pounds.  He is very active!  He runs and jumps up on and off furniture and runs loops around the living and dining room. And through his tunnel all the time.  It’s so funny, he has his own little racing trail he has made up.Such an athlete!  To see him zig zag between the dining room table and chair legs at top speed is so impressive!

From what I’ve read, yes it is safe, but obviously moderation is key. Some rabbits are more sensitive to pumpkin seeds than others, and this may translate into white (calcium excreted) pee. Apparently pumpkin seeds is categorized best with kale, so not too much due to calcium and oxalate levels.

If Zeke likes his pellets, you can feed him individual pellets as a “treat”!

Oxbow Simple Rewards Baked Treats are one of the better ready made treats that you can give to rabbits. The first ingredient is timothy hay. They come in 5 different flavor combos. You can break up the treats into smaller pieces, which would be especially good for training pieces. I get mine from Dr. Foster & Smith. They are on sale right now.

I have a pack of oxbow “apple&bananna” baked treats but he won’t eat them.  Love Oxbow though, I buy their pellets and hay.  Maybe I should try a different flavor.  Petpeople carry them near me.  Do yours have a favorite flavor baked treats?

Wick enjoys the Oxbow strawberry dried treats, as well as the baked apple and banana. He very much likes the veggie treats as well.

Veggie treats can be good for training since they won’t overload the bun on sugar If it’s hard to keep fresh veggies on hand, you can also give dried herbs as a treat. Thor particularly likes dried willow leaves!
