Hi everyone, my bunny is about 10weeks old and since I got him at 8.5 weeks, I’ve been noticing that he occasionally had these sudden crazy bursts of energy inside his cage as tho something had stung him. He runs around like a blur and pauses as if something were chasing him and striking. Is this normal bunny behavior or should I be worried? I haven’t noticed any fleas.

It sounds like he might be doing what we call the “Bunny 500” where they tear around at speed. Look up the term on youtube if you’re not familiar. Or he might be doing some binkies.

When you notice him like this, allow him out of cage into a safe area and enjoy the show! They are better when they have some traction so if you have slippery floors, put a big rug or blanket for him to hop around on.

A “Bunny 500” is generally a sign that the racing bun is in a good mood. My Fernando did a couple of laps around the X-pen last evening while his mother Panda (who has been known to go to the races herself) more sedately looked on. I personally recommend a natural-fiber rug with a rough texture, such as sisal, for their “racetrack”.
