hi, i recently asked about my vacation situation. i’m going to disney for 8 days and i’m leaving this saturday so this is urgent!! i just got my 10 week old mini lop Nutmeg on friday. he is doing very well, but he loves to be out of his cage and be given free run of my room. every time i put him back in his cage he puts his paws up on the bars and demands to be let out. my neighbor is coming 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, night) to take care of my animals (2 cats, one dog, fish, and my bun). She is also bringing her kids (11,2,14 years) the 2 year old is not allowed upstairs, and i have asked that only she and the 14 year old care for my bun, as the 14 year old is in my bio class. they’ve never had a bun which makes me EXTREMELY nervous, especially since he is so young. the playpen my mom got was way too short, he could easily jump over it. so he will have to be confined to his cage for the 8 days that i’m gone, because letting him out in my room is dangerous, and i don’t trust anyone else but me and my mom to do that. i have attached a dog crate to his cage so it doubles the size, and i was wondering if this would be okay space for him to be in for the next 8 days. it was impossible to completely fill the holes between the cage and crate so i stuffed towels and blankets in them so he can’t escape…next question. my room get’s pretty cold since it’s winter. i only have one air duct and the heat doesn’t really warm my room up. i have covered 3/4 of his cage with a blanket, gave him a little bed, an igloo, and a washcloth in hopes it will keep him warm. is that okay? oh and by the way, tomorrow her and her 14 year old son are coming over so i can go over how to care for nutmeg. please respond!

this is the cage set-up. i covered the door of his cage with a towel so his legs don’t get caught in the bars when he jumps up on them to enter his cage.
