Hello everyone,
Today our family is very concerned by the behaviour of our small friend- little bunny whose name is Bonnie (male, 3 years, Breed: Californian white. Yesterday I found him at the same place he was sitting in the morning but haven’t paid much attention to it. Today in the morning he was still not really willing to move much. I gave him some cereal to eat, he ate and then started a seizure- he lifted his head up and started to breathe hard, he went to the toilet just at once even though he usually goes to a special place for that. After a couple of hours and tonnes of articles read, we took him to the vet, who had cut his back teeth. There were three more seizures- my small bunny fell on one side and writhe his head and then he stood up and again had hard breath. She told us it looked like a neurological seizure so we needed to have a neurologist consultation and an X ray examination, as the temperature was fine and there were no signs of other diseases. We came to the neurologist, he checked up the bunny and told that he doesn’t see much of the neurological symptoms in his behaviour, because of both ears, eyes react to his actions as it should be. He made a blood test and X ray. X ray hasn’t shown anything special as for the blood test results, I’ll attach it with the translation. The final presumable diagnosis is intoxication or herpes virus. The prescription is 0,4 ml of enterogel 3 times a day. I came home and gave the medicine, after an hour he started to jump a bit again, in 30 minutes more he felt interested to the food, but as soon as he started eating- he had a seizure again. I’ ve managed to take a video of it and will attach the link to it. I am really worried about his condition. We live in Belarus and there are no good professionals in rabbits so I am very afraid to loose my friend because of the wrong diagnosis or too much time spent in vain. I would be very glad to get any ideas or hypothesis about my bunny. I am ready to answer any additional questions if it helps a small animal. So if there are professionals among you or may be some people who may help, I’ll be glad to receive any advice!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!!
