        Hi all,

Over the last few weeks we have noticed something different with Diesel, now he is not totally litter trained yet, He knows that when i he told to go in the tray to have a wee he will but when he is out playing he forgets and has to be told to go. Diesel has started drinking lots of water and over night his tray in his cage is very wet even with loads of carefresh in. Now Young Diesel sleeps in this tray too so he is getting very wet underneath so much so we had to bath him a few times. Can anyone give us some advise. Its there something better than carefresh, he just has a tray but can you get litter trays with grates in so he s not sitting in his wee all the time. Any advise will get great.

He is getting very excited with christmas coming up and is helping us wrap all the presents

Carefresh is a nice litter but I too find it stays a bit too wet for my bunnies. What I’ve done is use wood stove pellets or Feline Pine in a layer underneath a thin layer of Carefresh. This serves two purposes for Bonsai & Daffodil – The layer of Carefresh helps a sore hock issue and the pine pellets keep them plenty dry. I hope this helps and if he is outside of his cage and forgets to go to the potty box, you might want to consider adding one outside of his cage. Most bunnies are not like mine who hop back in the cage to go potty and need another one outside of it too.

Very cute him helping to wrap the presents!

            LOL He’s helping wrapping presents!

I too find carefresh although it comes in nice colors and is natural and good for them, it’s not too absorbant. I use wood stove pellets and I love them, they seem to really absorb smell and keep them dry. We have two giants at our shelter and they eat and drink tons-which means they poop and pee tons. I have to change their litter boxes twice as often, and put in lots of pellets but that seems to do the trick

just found and bought a corner tray with a grate on hopefully this will keep his bum away from the wee wee. Not got to get him to do in there!
