Ok, so Myrtle is due to be spayed on Thursday. Both Finn and Myrtle have already been (kind of) pre-bonding where they can see one another through the bars (with buffer). Both seem ok with one another, although Myrtle does follow him around her pen. She appears to love being around him!

How long should I wait after her spay until the next stage? Also, what would that next stage be since they are already pre-bonding? Finn has already been inside of her crate (not with her in it obviously), and both seemed fine with this. They are in the same room so can smell one another all of the time. Would this be swapping litter trays? Finn isn’t using a litter tray, as his using the top floor of his hutch as a litter tray! I think maybe swapping accommodations.

You can start swapping their items, if swapping litter trays isn’t possible, you can just swap food bowls, toys, blankets etc. You can also swap enclosures daily Do this for at least a month post spay. Hopefully her hormones will settle but be prepared to wait longer than a month as some females can take longer.
