i am not sure if “pre bonding” is the word. but i was wondering what kind of stuff i could do to start bonding before they actually meet. like i know the stunt dubble, switching there litter boxes but thats about it is there anything else i could do? how do you know when to take the next step up? i am clueless about bonding. i have know idea what to do.

        any advise?

I wouldn’t do the stunt bunny or litter box swapping just yet, as Lulu will still have the hormone scents going on. Give it a month, then you can start the swapping

After her hormones are gone, I would give them a face-to-face introduction (in the bathtub) and see how they do. If there is fighting or aggression, I would hold off on bonding and do cage swapping, stunt doubles, etc for at least a week or two. If they seem calm, then I think you can begin bonding sessions right away.

It is only the 4th, wait until the 17th.

Yes, and ditto Petzy on waiting until at least the 17th. And if you introduce them then and she seems hormonal or aggressive, I would separate them again for another week or two before starting bonding. You don’t want them to fight and hinder their chance at bonding in the future.

when ever i clean the cages and i put them in the kennel i put there kennels face to face and let them look at each other and smell each other. they like it when i do that and mocha seems to love her so that kinda why i want to start bonding. but we are going on spring break tomarrow and we wont get back till the 11th. so i guess i could wait.

i think what i will do is when we get back i will put the stunt dubbles in and see how they do, if they do good then i will switch litter boxes, then if they do good with that then i will switch cages then by then it will probably be over a month. then i will start doing the bathtub. oh when i switch the litter boxes how long will it take for them to get used to pooing in them and not on the floor?
