        Hello, bunny parents

I took Smushy to the vet for a dental procedure yesterday. He had a pre-surgical exam, and there were no injuries noted or observed. He was under the vets care for roughly 11 hours.

When the technician brought him out to me, post-surgery, she tilted the cage upwards and Smushy slid to the other side, I both saw and heard this happen.

When I got him home and let him out of his cage, his shoulder seemed to be drooping, and it appears that there is more than just his foot on the ground, almost like his ankle is also on the ground when he walks. When he lays down, his shoulder protrudes from his body as opposed to being tucked to his side. There is also a patch of fur missing on his leg that could either be due to IVs, catheter, etc, or due to impact against the cage.

I had a family member feel his legs up and down, and they stated that the bone structure feels completely different from one leg to the other.

Today, he is not moving much, and not eating much. I contacted the vet first thing this morning, and they said he may be experiencing discomfort due to the catheter they placed. But they assured me that he was hopping around just fine yesterday and they did not observe any injuries to his shoulder. I have reason to believe this happened as a result of negligence or malpractice of the technician.

We are going back to the vet this afternoon for a recheck, where I’m hoping they will do x-rays and I can get some further information.

        What do I do?

Oh gosh, I’m sorry this happened. I would explain exactly what you did here, and hopefully get a different technician if possible.
