Hermione had surgery on Thursday to “shave off” his back teeth that were growing up into his cheeks. he had the bottom and top teeth done. The vet said he’d be groggy for up to 24 hours afterwards, but it’s been 48 hours and he still seems a bit sluggish and just overall not as up beat and wide-eyed as he used to be. The vet also said that there we no complications with the surgery and that he reacted very well to the anesthetic. I just wanted to know if any of you ran into this problem after surgeries with your buns before I call the vet. NOTE: he is taking his pain meds and is eating as much as he always does (although a bit slower).

Pain medication can make rabbits very groggy, so if he does not seem to be in pain, discontinue the pain medication so he can process it out. That may help him perk up.

Recovery time can also be dependent on how many and what type of anesthesia is used.

It’s great that he’s eating though. Do you see him doing mouth movements to himself or feeling uncomfortable?
