What kind of tick was it? Brown dog ticks tend to be less numerous, plus they are bigger and easier to find. Black legged ticks are smaller and harder to find.

If it was tiny, then it probably wasn’t a brown dog tick. Those are the size of an apple seed. Do you have a flea comb? You could use one to part the fur to look for ticks. If the tick that was on you was already attached, then it’s unlikely it would have wanted to transfer to another host. You found it and disposed of it, so there probably isn’t anything to worry about. If you’re super worried, you could always do a treatment with Revolution. I have read that it isn’t very effective against ticks other than dog ticks though.

Pet your bunny. Like dig through his fur with your fingertips and feel the skin with small, circular movements. That’s how I found a tick on my rabbit a week ago. It had attached to his chin, I pulled it out with tweezers. It was a deer tick, they can be very small when they first attach.

Revolution (selamectin) is not effective against deer ticks, but it’s bunny safe and can be used preventatively during the warm season, if you live in an area with brown dog ticks and fleas etc.

And finally, not saying that you would, but we still always issue a warning against using any of the common tick drops sold OTC for dogs, on bunnies, especially those containing Fipronil. Its sold under many brand names, for example Frontline. It is deadly toxic to rabbits. End of warning-message!
