Possible flooring?

My new pet room has carpet and I really do not want my new rabbit on it, as well as I do not want urine in the carpet so i have been looking at options. 

Linoleum is an option but not my favorite. 

I found these, They are exactly the space I need and safe for children, I also don’t see a way the rabbit can chew on them. I just do not know how easy they are to sterilize, though being for children I can’t imagine it would be that hard.

My bunnies would destroy the mat you posted if they got to the ends or where the pieces connect but all buns are different! Happy hunting!

well I came up with two alternatives ( I was going to get vinyl flooring but thats not going as planned)

I agree about the suggestion from the breeder – I have some mats like this out in my garage under my trash can and they are not easy to clean because stuff gets in those grooves…

I’ve tried the non-skid floor protectors too and I didn’t really love those either to be honest and they made these marks on the carpet which of course is what makes them no-skid and they weren’t easy to clean either.

I just ordered the floor protector SO … I guess I try it and save for a back up plan if it doesn’t work or isn’t easy to clean.

So speaking of flooring….those rubber door kind of mats like ya’ll mentioned above…I don’t love them…they smell so strongly like rubber…tires really…I can’t imagine this is totally safe from a long term perspective; I know I wouldn’t want my body on those every day…
I went to Home Depot today and got a large self stick vinyl tile and brought it home to test it out because I’m considering laying vinyl in our new xpen setup…I’m SO glad that I heeded someones advice from here and tried it out first…he had zero traction, just slipped everywhere. I’m going to do the super thin business carpeting they sell at HD in the big rolls, that’s what we have now and it works great. I’m just going to get one of those hand held dustbuster kind of vacuums to vacuum up hay/hair periodically.
Let us know how the floor protector goes…wondering about traction, would be interested to see how it works out!

I do not want to use them at all. The door mats that is.

I want him to have traction but I need to be able to clean. So this may be difficult.
