I have been using furminator for 3 days now. or 4. anyways  those thing patches I noticed on cotton poor fellow well he was lying on his side and I saw red. I went over and looked poor guy there is a red scaly feeling line where I start the brush stroke. I over brushed the poor fellow. awe. no wonder he been hiding come brush time. supposed to be a pleasant experience not painful. well we will be skipping the grooming for a few days and watching those spots. they are not round so I don’t think is mange./mites it straight line all where I start the brush strokes. I thought I had a light hand guess not.

Oh poor Cotton and poor you! It’s okay, you noticed the irritation and as long as there’s no bleeding or anything, hopefully it will grow back and heal. I only used my furminator once since I got it, while the buns were shedding so bad, and now we’ve only used the love glove since then. That brush does a great job, but I wouldn’t use it for everyday.
Give your little Cotton extra snuggles and I’m sure he’ll forget all about it. They are so lovable and loving, they forgive us so many silly mistakes we humans make. ^_^

Poor little fellow – I’ve heard those furminators can be very rough. Maybe you need something a little gentler.

i agree that you may just need a lighter brush, brushing should be an enjoyable thing but it doesnt really need doing every day, i get my two brushed about twice a week and i just run my hands over them once a day to remove anything they may get caught in their furr.

The poor little guy has been such a good boy about his new family, too.
Maybe spend some special time with him today doing something that’s his favorite, or let him rest and give him some rose petals.

Ooo, I just got an idea. Now that you have 3 that need brushing, why don’t you rotate one each day? (Today is Puff, tomorrow is Cotton, the day after is Ruby, then Puff again, etc.) That gives each bunny two days off from brushing. You can always dampen your hands and smoothe out each one once a day as well for the surface stuff as was just mentioned. (They love their pets.)

I would definitely not use the furminator so much .  You can overgroom I have been told.  Thank god Edson is done shedding but I did find the more I groomed him the more he shed during that time.  Just cut back and use something more gentle.

I use the furminator once in a while when the shedding is really bad. Stormy and Bindi seem to hate it so I only use it very briefly.
