Poopy butt

Hi there I woke up this morning and my bunny has a poopy but I cleaned it and started brushing some of because the hair was getting ready to fall out. After I cleaned him I noticed that now he has a bald spot. Is this ok or can something go wrong?

If you look at the area and the skin looks normal- this can be a normal process of shedding. I have occasionally found that on my bunnies that they will shed their hair to a “bald” spot but will have signs of hair regrowth there. It is usually in the areas that get clumpy before shedding- like on haunches, above the tail, etc.

The area looks normal. It is a light pink color. Which is normal. It came out because he had a poopy but and the the fur all clumped together. thanks for the help

This is kinda strange but might just be a cooincidence- I figured I’d post about it anyway. I replied to a post from KamdyandSunshinesmom regarding the leaves and stuff in Sweet MeadowTimothy Hay. I thougt it was fine, since I’ve been feeding my bunnies that hay for over a year. However, I got a bag of Timothy Hay there last weekend , and it had WAY more leaves/different looking stuff than usual. My bunnies love it, but yesterday and today BunBun has poopy butt. He had been doing so well too >.< . Now I see a post that Kamdyandsunshine's bunny has poopy butt too and I can't help wondering if perhaps our bunnies are sensitive to something in the hay. It's probably nothing, but I wanted to throw this out there just in case, especially since I was the one who specifically said I used the hay and that the leaves/etc were fine. Anyway, just in case I'm not giving my bunnies any more of the regular timothy- I'm still feeding them the Sweet Meadow Grass and 1st Cut Timothy by Sweet Meadow, because they don;t have any more leaves than usual.
I will see if BunBun’s poopy butt improves and let you all know. If it does, I think I’m going to avoid that particular type of hay, but not the Sweet Meadow brand since my buns do like their hay.

I have always bought oxbow hay and once when I ran out of oxbow hay and my shipment didn’t come I ran to my local petco and bought there brand my sick ill bunny kamdyn didn’t even touch that hay. My other bunny sunshine ate. The oxbow was getting to be expensive and with 2 buns and a limited budget. I bought the sweet meadow hay. It does have alot of leaves. I have never seen leaves before in hay. I guess because I am use to oxbow. I don’t know if I will buy the sweet meadow hay once I am done with this bale. I noticed that I fill my buns boxes in the morning and buy the next morning it isn’t all gone. With the oxbow it was always gone. It also seems like there are more brown in this hay. My rabbit sometimes does get a poopy but because he has cancer and being that he has a week immune system he is more sensitive. thanks for your help i really appreciate it.

I can’t remember exactly but I think metacam can cause either poopy butt or some tummy issues. Maybe it’s lack of appetite I’m thinking of….  Anyway, I know you’ve said he’s on metacam. That may be something to look at if the trouble continues. Metacam is something that can be used paired with other pain relievers so he might be able to go on a reduced dose if need be.
