Okay, I know I’ve touched on this subject breifly before, but I’d like to try and address it more thuroughly.

How many people here have bunnies who’s poop varies in size and quantity thoughout the day vs bunnies who have one uniform poop size all day?

I just think it’s an interesting subject and wonder if there isn’t any insight in it. Binkles’ poop was always uniform unless she was experiencing GI problems or gas. Little-Bit’s poop varies directly with her level of activity, being small and few in the morning and daytime when I’m at school and she’s asleep, and large and numerous in the evening and night when she’s most active and I’m home, piquing in size when she gets her most hyper right before I go to bed.

        Input everyone?

The uniformity of Puck’s poop amazes me.

                  Okay. So far we have:

                  Consistant Bunnies: 6
                  ‘Variety’ Bunnies: 3

I wonder if personality has anything to do with it. Binkles (consistant) was a stringent respectible alpha bun while Little-Bit (Variety) is a fun-loving social sweetie.

Jack’s poops are pretty much the same and he poops around the same times everyday. However, there are times when they vary and during those occasional times, the first poop of the evening is usually not as much and are as large as later when he is munching away and his tract is moving along in full force.

Seems to make three big piles of poop a day…well mostly only throughout the evening and early am.

                      Interesting.  Poop talk.

Ok Ruby’s vary.   Cottons big and mostly consistent.  HE will put a smell on his to mark me with though.  They are easy to find.  Being large.

I have mostly very consistent poopers. I would say that out of my 8 bunnies – I have 6 consistent poopers – so that is 2 for the “variety” and 6 for “consistent.”

                          EXCELLENT PUN!!!!!

Tell me you love D Gray Man, Skip Beat, or Zoku Natsume Yuujin Chou, and we can be BFF’s (Bishounen freaking fanatics)!

Anyway, since you started it, let’s talk Sh**.

I have two bunnies, Smokey and Fang.  Smokey is the larger bunny, but his ‘kuso’ is tiny, the size of small peppercorns.  When Smokey gets scared or frightened, he poops objects that closely resemble tootsie roll midgies.  No lie.  It stops when he calms down.  He is meticulous, and used to only poo in his box, but Fang has taught him bad habits.

Now on to Fang.  He’s smaller than Smokey, but has a larger nugget.  His are the size of buckshot.  Fang’s stools NEVER change in size, ever.  They are always the same, and Fang produces more bodily waste than any living creature I have ever met.  I had pigs once, and they didn’t even generate as much crap relative to their own body size as Fang does!  It’s continuous, it’s damn frightening!  If I could find a cheap way to harness energy from the massive amount of BMs this bunny produces, I could end Global Warming.

And, off on a tangent, I have another axe to grind when it comes to bunny poo.

Pet industries have gone to enormous lengths to provide the proud parents of rabbits with a line of products as abundant as those available for cats and dogs.  We can dress them in stupid costumes, buy them cologne, get state of the art play condos for our bunnies, and go blind trying to figure out which treats to buy them.

But no one out there can create a friggin’ poop scoop for the litter box that can strain out bunny doo-doo easily.  Can you all hear what I’m saying?  Cat litter scoops are useless for the dwarf bunnies, the nuggets just fall through.  I had to search through five different pet stores, until I found a scoop that is supposed to be used for IGUANA dung.  It works, though, it filters bunny pellets well.  The only problem is that if the litter is larger than the size of the poo, you still can’t sift it.

No matter how you look at it, bunny poo stinks.

Iris… Fang is at the top of my favorite handful bunny list (sorry maryann… you’ve been demoted to #2).

As far as poops go, frankie’s are usually the same size. The exception is if he’s dehydrated or had a change in diet.

*gasp* Iriswarrior strikes again. Love that post! Maybe you should design the ultimate bunny pooper scooper? Then you can make a ton of money then hire someone to deal with all Fangs poop (and Smokeys tootsies ;o) )

Butter cup has an explosion in the morning just after I bring her downstairs.
Drops a mountain in my lap if she is there more than a half hour.
When she is chasing Pig she leaves a trail.

I’ve noticed that the poop is shiny when dropped on or near people she likes but dull otherwise.

I know my bunnies poop well, see I crawl around on my hands an knees with a coffee can picking it up for my garden.
I gonna try to market the stuff, people will buy crap so why not bunny crap?

Iris-you always crack me up LOL

Noot has great poopies now-when he was at the shelter and sad-his poops were tinier then mouse poops! He has very consistent poops and they are rock solid-he eats a ton of hay.
Ruperts are consistent as well.Chuck has an easy upset tummy and gets soft poos with even a smidge more or less veggies then the previous day-so his we monitor and work on but they are not very consistent. Kahlua’s are also up and down-they are always hard and good poops but sometimes they are smaller or larger then other times. I wouldn’t say any of their poops vary in a day though-just depends on if they are shedding or had extra treats etc.
