I moved my bunny CeeCee (yes, on other advice posts!) to a larger area with her babies. I made the cage with those 14×14 panels to give her room to roam. Since I moved her however, she has started flinging litter, peeing and pooing ALL OVER, not just in a couple of areas and it is a BIG problem, since it is extremely difficult to change her litter and the bedding. I did start laying newspaper down to protect and offer some absorbant properties, but that is obviously making things worse.
I collected her poo and put it in the litter box. That hasn’t seemed to help. I am afraid of all her pee soaking through to the carpet, even though I have put down liner, as it is hard to lay it down just so. And God help me when these babies start bopping around. Her pee is seeping out around the edges, and poop is somehow landing outside on the carpet – NO CLUE how that is getting out. AND, she is shredding the paper now. I know she needs to DO something, shredding is ok – the POO is not! And OMG – the AMOUNT of poo is phenomenal compared to her regular! I know she has to eat more for the babies, but good gosh!!
It is so tiring cleaning her cage area, and she is making this a BIG problem. Not sure what to do, but getting tired and frustrated…
On the good side however – she is starting to FLOP!! That is nice, and although she won’t let anyone pick her up still, she definitely likes the cage area. She is much more affectionate, and sometimes demands grooming, especially if I am in there cleaning up for her. She’s like – well, if you’re going to clean the pen, you better give me some love too!!
Thanks for any help!
