My baby poked her eye on Friday night. I rinsed her eye thoroughly to make sure there was no foreign objects in it. After I made her eye wet her bottom eyelid started drooping downward, like it couldn’t stick to her eye anymore. It freaked me out! I’m thinking it was because it was so wet though, cause it went back to normal in like 5-10 mins. I’m hoping that’s nothing to worry about? Yesterday she was acting completely normal. Running around, eating, drinking, eyes wide open. This morning she feels some pain again. She jumps a little when I touch that eye (eyelid) and there are moments I find it partially closed. I gave her some of her regular pain medication that she has for back pain. I’m just wondering what I should be watching out for? Her eye looks normal right now, no swelling or redness. Any advice?

She could just be wary of that eye since it got poked… and then rinsed… and there was a lot of fuss. But I would have her seen by a vet soon if it doesn’t seem better after a couple of days. Sometimes a simple poke can cause a lot of damage, especially if a sliver of hay was left behind.
