This just came to me, since the vet ask to sterialize anything the bunnys came in contact with. Can i use dettol for this? Or is there any other alternatives?

I’m not familiar with dettol – but for disinfecting I just use a solution 50% water, 50% white vinegar. This is especially good for anything that the bunnies will be in direct contact with because it’s totally safe for them. It’s also great for getting rid of odours. And best of all, it’s super inexpensive!

Dettol is an antiseptic liquid, used for cleaning and medical purposes. You should be able to use just a solution of household bleach and water. Just be sure to rinse really well afterwards. BinkyBunny mentioned in another thread that you can immerse bowls etc in 10% bleach solution for 2 minutes, then rinse. I guess you can wash floors with it and wipe down pen wires then rinse, rinse, rinse! Probably wash fabrics in a hot wash.

Is this to manage the mite situation? Did you find out what type of mite it is? Mange mites, Fur mites? I don’t know how you manage the habitat in these cases but hoping someone with some experience will advise you. Just let us know what type of bug you are trying to get rid of.
