Sorry to make so many posts lately but Blossom needs healing vibes and prayers. Today I found blood in her enclosure and she’s barely eating, it took her literal hours to eat all her pellets and she’s not really touching her hay much and she’s doing more sleeping than normal today. She has a vet appointment on Monday, that’s the closest day that we could get. I’m honestly scared so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers (for those of you who do pray).

How does her belly feel? Are the insides of her ears cold?

If her belly seems distended/hard, its not advisable to try and syringe feed her, because it could be a blockage.

If the insides of her ears feel cold, you should try to warm her. You can use a warm water bottle or a microwaved sock filled with rice (heat it with a glass of water to protect the microwave). Make sure she has room enough to move away from the heat source if she wants to. The safest way to warm up a bun is to sit her in your lap inside your t-shirt/sweater so your body heat warms her.

Do you think the blood you saw was from her uterus? As you know, rabbit urine can be very red. You can test if its really blood by dropping some hydrogen peroxide on it -if its blood, it will foam. (Jerseygirl who used to be a moderator here did this test with one of her buns that she knew had blood in his urine, and it did foam, a lot).

          Have you seen any poop?

She won’t let me touch her belly but her ears felt warm and I just tried that and all the spots foamed and I’m not sure where it’s coming from, I’m thinking it might be from her uterus or bladder. No new poops and we called around but the only emergency vets close to us only takes dogs and cats.

It’s good that she isn’t feeling cold -as long as she doesnt have a fever of course.

Has she eaten anything at all? Have you seen any poop?

If she isn’t spayed, its reasonable to think the blood is from her uterus. Rabbits can also get blood in the urine due to stones in the urinary tract (uroliths). A bad UTI can of course also cause blood in the urine.

She hasn’t eaten anything today and no poops today, she’s just been sleeping in her hidey house and she isn’t spayed either. When I got enough money to spay her something happened like the washing machine needing to be replaced, or needing the money for food ect.
