I was thinking along the same lines of Beka27. It sounds like puberty.

i know everyone has different experiences with getting their bunnies altered… but Meadow was spayed just over a week ago and she has not bit me since.  she was biting me about once a day in the week before the surgery.  she still is digging a little bit, but not nearly as much or as violently as before.  it’s amazing what a difference there is in her personality.  you may seriously want to consider spaying if it’s at all possible.

yes, it sounds like time for her to be spayed – she’s reached the bratty bunny puberty stage.
Did you find a doctor that is able to spay rabbits?

Kokanee got a “dewlap” when she went through puberty. It is a double chin looking thing. Being the ignorant first time bunny-mommy that I am I thought she was getting fat …
After looking everywhere, I’ve found from several sources that the ‘double chin’ is called a Dewlap, and is more pronounced in females although males can have them. It’s no big deal, and doesn’t mean they are overweight-though it does look a *little* silly. It’s just loose skin around the neck to aid the mother rabbit in getting fur to line the nest. Kokanee chews on the fur there when she is PO’d (when she is being a “bunny burito” for nail trimming)…. I think that if females are neutered before they go through puberty they won’t get a dewlap, but that is just my thoughts…

Meadow has a little bit of a dewlap… my husband, the other day, said… she’s not fat… why is she getting a double chin?  i laughed.

During the puberty stage frequently bunnies get more destructive (getting into things, digging and chewing at things) and sometimes can be a bit “bratty” like you mentioned, with the nipping and such. When she nips at you, what do you do? I have a nipping bunny and he really just does it to get my attention to ask me to play with him. How far away does she run? If its not far, she may just be nipping to try to get you to play with her.

Well… You might lose a finger or two…  Lol. J/k but yeah mins is going through the same thing and bit me so freaking hard. When they bite, it’s a good thing to let out a high-pitch shriek. This usually scares them and makes them understand that it hurt you.

Aggressivity, loss of litter habits, humping, etc. are all things often encountered when they hit that stage. Spaying really mellows them out though.
