I thought of getting a carpet for my bedroom floor instead of having to put down a bunch of mats and blankets for playtime. And I could just leave the carpet there all the time. I have a hardwood floor that stains easily when it gets wet. I just thought using a carpet instead of mats would be easier. Both the buns are housed in my bedroom. I have a rug but it doesn’t cover the whole area and it’s more for decor, it’s very fluffy. I just want to give them grip so they can hop around easier. Does anyone use a carpet for bunny playtime? Advice?

I used to have a shag rug, and it worked fine and Louie loves to binky on it, but he began to rip it apart and hay was getting caught in it so I moved it to another part of my house, and I replaced it with a woven wool rug. The wool does pill and shed off the rug, but it’s much easier in the long run. It’s much easier to clean as well. My mom and I also ordered some thick canvas or duck cloth from online and sewed it into a large mat that I can easily fold up and put away when ppl come over, I need to clean, etc. And I can just pull it out for bunny play time, and it was inexpensive to buy the fabric, and we have tons of sewing stuff at home.

@Moonlightbunny66 I have 1 room where there is a slippery floor, but I’ve just been too lazy to muster up the energy to buy a rug, so I’ve just been using mats. 😉 Are you planning on having them free roam your entire house or just your room? The room with the slippery floors I’m using for neutral territory, so once my girls are bonded, I would just pick up the mats. If you plan on having them live in your room though, then I would say to go for a rug. 🙂

@Louiethebunny Thank you! Good idea. Yeah I guess they could rip it up… Maybe if I wrap a blanket around the edges it’ll help?

They’ll just be free roaming for hours in my room. Thanks!
