I’m planning on taking Nibs back to the Humane Society this week or next and seeing if he can find a friend. I’ve read the bonding info up top here and all the links, as well as looking the the threads here. Is there any behavior on his part or the other bun’s part I should look for as a good thing, other than mutual ignoring? Is a little grooming too much to hope for? If they get into a “flop-off” (“Oooh, I’m *so* much more comfy than *you*.” “No, nooooo…I’m *waaaaay* more comfy!”) is that good? Bad? Meh?
I’m sure Chris at the HS will be able to give me some pointers when it happens; I’m just going all OCD-ish.
Nibs is a very laid-back, affectionate bun. We did a short stop at the HS weekend before last to get an idea of the prospects and came home smelling of other bunnies (and the most affectionate, adorable ferret in the world). Other than being curious (and having to chin our shoes!), he didn’t seem disturbed or upset at all at other bunny/ferret smells coming into “his” house. He was just very curious (“Oh! What’s this?” snuffle-snuffle “Well. Hmmm.” brief shoe chin “You’re still mine. Pet me!”) and I’m hoping that’s a good sign.
