Hey guys! I’m looking for ideas/inspiration. My two bunnies and I just moved to a new city and, MUCH to my dismay, our new apartment turned out to be infested with bed bugs!!!
I am heartbroken because the exterminator says I have to get rid of all cardboard (including their beloved Maze Haven!) as well as the special 2-storey wooden condo I lovingly designed and built for them two years ago. I designed it to fit their litterboxes perfectly, and made a carpeted step up to a second floor. It’s been their home base ever since, and I am SO sad to see them lose it!!!
But the exterminator can’t treat it without it being toxic for them to chew on (I used untreated pine so they could chew away — and they do!), so it has to go.
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to bring any more cardboard in, and their new bunny forts/tunnels/hideouts has to be made of plastic. Unfortunately wood, willow, grass, and especially cardboard can harbor these bugs, and aren’t as easy to clean. Have you seen any cool stuff done with plastic materials for bunnies? I checked the photo albums on this site but saw mainly wood and wire setups. The bunnies have free reign in the living room (though they won’t venture off their rugs onto the wood floors), so they just need some good hideouts. I know they will miss their Maze Haven!!!
Thank you so much!
