        Hello,

My new apt. does not have an AC and the temperatures can go as high as 30 – 35 Deg C. So to keep Mr. Basil (my Rex bunny) cool I have a fan running near him all the time and a big bucket of ice near the fan. I also put ice cold bottles in his resting area. Of late I have also started to sprinkle some water on the towel on which he rests. I have noticed that he prefers to sit on the wet portion of the towel rather than the dry one.

Is this okay? I have heard that in very hot weather even people can benefit is they use damp bedsheets to sleep in. Are there any disadvantages to wetting the part of the towel where Mr. Basil rests?

I really want to keep him cool. Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

        Thanks.

          Hi!

I suggest buying floor tiles and putting them on the floor in his cage. Anything wet on them can cause skin irritation as they have very sensitive skin.
Can you buy a window unit so you can have ac in there?

I second the tile option. Ceramic tiles are always cool so bunnies love laying on them in hot weather. Putting a bucket of water or ice in front of the fan makes the air cooler too

Bunny fur is really dense so it’s doesn’t dry easily and may cause problems later on if their fur is constantly wet.
