Was afraid I’d be too offensive with the other word….lol.

Anyway…Pip is most certainly PEEved about something. Literally. I mean, I will put my hand in her pen to clean her out first thing in the a.m. and last thing before bed and she will run to one side of her habitat, lift tail and pee on her bed right in front of me, shooting stinkeye the whole time. I haven’t done anything to present myself in a threatening way to her. What is her problem? This is totally new behavior for her.

I’ve caught her peeing in her eating hay (which must always be on the floor-she eats every basket I try to put in there) or on her bed if I don’t get her cleaned on her schedule, but that’s my bad. Her litterbox is oftentimes still full of fresh litter and I can see she DOES pee in the box. She is not exhibiting any other symptoms. Eating, sleeping, eliminating (other than this) are all normal. Why would she have suddenly taken to wetting as a response to interaction with me?

I’m hurt. And not real happy about it as I go through enough bunny beds with Fiver as it is.

MM, she’s been reading the Forums again. She just can’t stand all the attention going to Mimzy and she’s p…sed. My sources tell me she’s been emailing Maryann, too, and you know what kind of an influence SHE is.

What’s different? Start with smells. Maybe you’ve handled the boys and not washed and she’s upset about it. Maybe she wants a hay basket again so she can tear it up. Often if you are not on her schedule, that’s all it takes. Make sure she is doing it on purpose, not just incontinent.

            Lol @ Pam.

My first response would be to take the bed away. I know you want soft things for her to lay on, but I would take it away if she’s peeing on it. Hannah also pees on any hay that ends up on the floor of the cage, plus peeing on her bed at times. Pip might have just figured out that she likes peeing on these things and now she’s unstoppable until you take them away 😉

No…NO…Not MARYANN! ANYTHING but Maryann! 0_o *shivers*

Certainly when she turns and looks at me and pees, it’s intentional. I have had times when I cleaned her habitat and found she’d already peed the bed or the hay without seeing me first. I’m doing my best to get us all back on schedule again. It seems to be helping today at least…everything dry and not so much stinkeye.

I also make sure I clean my hands thoroughly before touching her stuff. I probably smell too much like Jenna at least, since she sleeps with me.

I also forgot to mention that I’ve been giving her dandelion, which has some diuretic properties. But I’ve stopped giving them to her for now. We’ll see if that may be it.
Since Mimzy lives right below her, and he is not 100%…perhaps she senses his distress or discomfort and this is upsetting her? Or she might just be able to smell his pee accidents and thinks she has to compensate?

Otherwise. Meh, she’s a diva. I suppose it could be all attitude. I did try taking out her bedding, she just peed on her hay. I’ll have to find an indestructible basket for that though. And she doesn’t like not being on something soft, because she has trouble walking on the plastic bottom of her pen or the linoleum. If I put cardboard in there, she’ll just tear it up.

I noticed she is about to go through another big shed (our temps here have been hardly stable…boiling hot one minute and cold winds and thunderstorms the next, although the noise doesn’t seem to bother her) so maybe she’s peevish on top of that.

I have the same problem with my male bunny recently, with him its lots of lunging at your hand and spraying at you making sure you know he is unhappy. He developed this problem though with us because when we got him first we had to neuter him which mean morning and evening antibiotics for him which he hated so he has this idea everytime, he gets out of his cage its for stuff to hurt him or stuff he doesnt want.

What i did was to open his cage, let him hop out give him a raisin and then clean his cage (while being careful of bum nipping). Now every morning I just open his cage he pops pit treat given and its less stress for everyone.
