I have not decided on a name yet- though I am leaning towards Schroeder (from the Peanuts gang).  My husband gets final pick out of the 2 or 3 names that I consider- I find it is best to do this as it gets him involved a little.

He is a hay eating machine- 90% of the time he is eating hay.  I think he must be happy to have unlimited hay and hay variety.  As of today he has a wire basket hay bin.  I had to take his fleece blanket out after the first day since he peed and pood on it- but since I took the blanket out (that crate has a coroplast bottom) and put a piece of paper towel soaked with his pee in the box and dumped his poos in there- he totally gets the concept now.  And I feel better that his hay is now in a bin so that all his hay in not in the litterbox.

After I get his stool sample checked then I can start cage swapping with him and Cotton.  His info from the humane society said he was picked up as a stray so he must have spent some time outdoors and could have been exposed to intestinal parasites.

Oh my goodness….for a second there I thought he had a really long tail then saw it was your cat! lol  What’s the cat’s name by the way?
Schroeder is cute! Very boy name. Further suggestions on the bl/wh theme….Pinto, Painter or Sailor (a bl/wh butterfly apparently..) Ha, ha, of course he is YOUR bunny and YOU and HUBBY should name him….I’m just living vicariously through everyone here that’s getting new bunnies as I cannot myself at this time :o(

The cat in the picture is Oreo (not very original).  I used to able to name my pets common names- Hershey, Shadow, Oreo- but once you work at a vet clinic the pressure is on.  Seriously, everyone I work with feels like we have to be original because we see tons of Rusty’s, Sadie’s, Buster’s every day.  Oreo is about 13 years old and she loves to hang out by the bunnies, nosh on their hay and barf it up later.

Fortunately the new bunny is not at all afraid of cats, Cotton who is housed by him, or the dogs.  Molson washed “Edwards” face the other night and I would have stopped it, but the bunny did not seem to mind.  He was neutered on 12/02/08 at the shelter- and for some reason, though he has not TRIED anything- I get this feeling that he is waiting for his chance to hump someone or something.  He is so mellow, I guess I assume he has ulterior motives.  (My girls have never humped, dominance or otherwise).

Precious little guy, Katnip. Congratulations! ^_^ Oh and your kitty is on the kidnap list too, btw. ^_^

lightchick- I decided to get another bun when I saw him at the pet store for adoption thru local humane society.  The fact that he was already neutered played a huge factor in me being interested.

I have worked on some bonding with him and Cotton and their level of aggression is less than what Cotton and Penny were at after 3-4 months.  So I am hopeful for a bond between the 2 of them.

They’re such a cute animal family. I love that Oreo matches!
Beka, it might work as long as you never have Max and Schroeder in the same room. lol.

In the picture that shows 2 black and white pets- Oreo and Schroeder- it is obvious that Cotton is not white.  She looks white without any white to compare to- but she has a little blue-grey color to her- most noticeable on her points (nose, tail, ears, feet) but through out the rest of her coat too.  It changes when she sheds- so I like to comment she has a case of “ring around the bun” as it is usually a line all the way around her body.
