        Hey all!

One week ago tomorrow Kibou arrived, my bunny number two! Much to my surprise, Kibou was not even 5 weeks old when I picked her up. She was 4 weeks and 6 days!

I later found out the breeder weans them at 4 weeks…eek!

Anyway, I nearly died when I met Kibou. She is SO small. However, she settled in remarkably well. We had 1 incident with diarrhea, but luckily it looked like just a 1 day stress response, as she is fine now.

She’s already conceded to peeing in the litter box, now it’s getting her to poop there!

She loves coming out and doing "baby binkies" as I call them. Let me tell you, a 5 week old baby doing binkies and the Bunny 500 is FREAKING adorable.

So, without further ado…here is Kibou from last week. She will be 6 weeks old tomorrow

        (size reference with my hand)

Here is a video of her exploring on my couch the first day she was home:

She has blue/brown eyes So pretty

Oh wow, like I mentioned on another discussion, this is the too cute my head is going to explode day!  She looks like a cute poofy Pokeman! Wow, she’s something and that is a great video, thanks for sharing it!

Babies that are separated at less than 8 weeks do run a high risk of enteritis, it’s where the intestinal lining flares up and can result in fatal diarrhea.  Be very careful since she ahs already had it and I would recommend that you call a vet, take her in to make sure she is not beginning to develop it.

          Some info:

          http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/surpriselitter.html

Also, are you going to separate them until fixed so you don’t have a surprise litter? Females sexually mature at about 4 months (sometimes younger) and the males at about 3 1/2 (again sometimes sooner) but vets usually wait until they are 5 months old to neuter. So, separating them at 3 months *I believe* is the recommended age. Hopefully gravehearted, Binky Bunny or Moobunnay can confirm or correct his. My experience is not with baby bunnies, but from jouvenile through geriatric.

Kibou is such an adorable ball of fuzz!   Kibou and Finn can be bunny friends…it is one week yesterday that I brought Finn home!   Congratulations on such a precious little bun bun!  May you both share a long, happy friendship together!

Don’t worry, Scarlet Rose… Yuuki and Kibou are not kept together nor will they ever be until both neutered/spayed, and that would be in a bonding attempt.

I do my research, no worries.

Oh hey, no problems and I’m so glad you’ve researched everything.  I just wanted to be sure.  Those pics are so cute! I have a question, do you pick them up to put them on the couch or do they hop up there all on their own? How high can a baby bunny jump?

For now I put Kibou on the couch…but Yuuki, my 3 month old, jumps up and down by himself!
