So  I noticed Jacskon doing a funny head shake thing yesterday. Not a head Binky, and more than when he shakes after cleaning himself. At first I didn’t think too much of it, until I saw him doing it again.  He is an uppy ear guy, so So peered down to see what I could ( nothing, by the way) and stuck my nose down into the ear and sniffed ( which he did not appreciate, I can tell you). No bad smells, no visual goo.

Well, he did it a bunch of times more through the evening and again this morning. SO – I call the vets and say “Maybe an ear infection? Can we come in?” …because I am nearing the end of writing my Comps and if he got sick, it would seriously derail my writing with my syringing critical care into him and worrying. By about midnight last night, I was staring at him trying to see if I had any signs of head tilt going on

Nope. A healthy Guy – She looked in his ears ( and had me look) looks great – nice pale pink. His teeth look great, no obvious issue which could be giving him problems. Gut is mobile and soft. We concluded that he may have gotten some of his fur in there and it tickled him – as they are both blowing their coats BIG TIME…Just a worried Bunny Mom. Its just with Buns, as you all know, Nothing can become something very quickly!

Now he is ignoring me like there is no tomorrow, but thats all right. I am just glad there is no infection.

          That’s great!
I love that your vet let you look in his ears, too.

Me Too Pam – As a Mom with a kid who had chronic ear infections and finally had the vent tubes put in, I am a pro at knowing what a goopy ear looks like. Bunnies ears have very similar structure in some way, so the nice light pink with no moisture kicking around was a welcome sign. If I still had the scope I used to have when my DD was small, I could have looked myself!

am still being ingored, even with extra papaya treats!

Glad Jackson is okay! I always feel it’s better to be safe than sorry. I like it as well that your vet let you look…very neat.

Hopefully he’ll come around soon or else he’s just playing you for more papaya tablets – rabbits are smart that way :~)
