  RabbitWise ACTION ALERT
  
  Help oppose rabbits being bred for ”meat” and for those that are, advocate for more humane treatment. Right now, rabbits aren’t even covered by the Humane Slaughter Act which requires that animals must be rendered unconscious before slaughter. Rabbits and birds that are considered livestock are exempted from this act. This means that the rabbit meat industry is unregulated and can legally slaughter these animals any way they chose.   THanks! We need as many signatures as possible – every single one counts! I volunteer for Rabbit Rescue and we are currently assisting the OSPCA with over 400 rabbits recently surrendered from a meat farm and I cannot tell you the horrors those bunnies have been through. There are NO LAWS in place to protect them and we need new laws NOW! Rabbits suffer at large everyday in unregistered and unregulated meat farms all over this nation and they desperately need our help!

  Yes I know it’s just unbearable to read about. Laws have got to change and at least this is somewhat of a start. Thanks for posting this.
