I wanted to share the below message from petco. Woo-hoo, they’re going to suspend sales of rabbits, they did a complete 180! Maybe all the messages people sent made a difference!!

Recently, a management decision was made to begin offering spayed or neutered rabbits in selected California stores.
Unfortunately, we did not follow our established protocol prior to this action. That protocol includes a diligent attempt to seek viable adoption partners first. Only if an adoption partner is not available would we consider offering spayed or neutered rabbits. Our commitment has been and continues to be focused on adoption as the first choice for those PETCO customers wishing to add a companion rabbit to their family.
Effective immediately we are going to suspend offering rabbits in these selected stores where they were recently added to allow additional time to find a local rabbit adoption group for these stores.
Any rabbit adoption group wishing to hold adoption events at a local PETCO store should contact our National Adoption Coordinator for the PETCO Foundation at 858-453-7845.
For the rabbits we have purchased for other areas, PETCO has established criteria that companion animal suppliers must meet to become one of our vendors. Marshall Pet Products has met these criteria and has also met rigorous USDA requirements and standards. We have been pleased with the health and quality of the altered rabbits Marshall Farms has consistently provided us.
