When I bought the Maze Haven from this website, I didn’t realize it would take up all of my available floorspace so when Bean isn’t making use of it, I store it upright and against the wall in my closet. The other day, Bean ran into my closet and figured out that he could jump up the partitions in the Maze Haven and make it to the top. He looked like he was having so much fun, I took out the Maze Haven and set it against my really tall bed. Bean figured it out so quickly and now likes lounging on my bed (supervised).

I’m so happy about this because I’ve wished that Bean would sleep with me, but I didn’t want to pick him up because that makes him cranky. Now when I take a nap or tuck in for the night, Bean climbs up the Maze Haven and sleeps with me.

Unfortunately though, I don’t think the Maze Haven was made for this kind of use and it doesn’t seem stable. Does anyone have any suggestions for some pet stairs that work for rabbits? I know they make them for dogs and cats, but I don’t know if they’re designed with bunny habituations in mind.

Bean knocked out on my bed.

This photo is going to be his dating profile pic when he starts looking for a girlfriend, lol.

When I got Nermals big cage it was on a stand (and still is) which meant a good couple of feet between the door and the floor. I ended up buying a cheap $5 shoe rack taking the legs off one end and covering it in carpet for traction, I put hooks at the legless end and hooked it onto the cage. Nermal bolts up and down the ramp with no problem at all now. The first few tries were funny as she would pause half way and slide down. Nermal has it completely figured out now. It takes up less space than pet step and was considerably cheaper.

Pet steps should work just fine. You’re right that the maze isn’t designed to be used sideways, so I don’t think it would be very sturdy that way.

I don’t think a regular pet stair would be a problem. I’m sure he would figure it out. We have a dog ramp since my dog can’t do stairs. Both of the rabbits use it to get on and off the couch, no problem.

I agree pet steps should be fine. =] I’ve actually been searching for some cheap steps to help the buns get up on the bed too. =p

If you’re really handy or know someone really handy. It may just be cheaper to build steps on your own to the exact specs of your bed.
