With much sadness I had to let Mr. Peppermint go to the Bridge where he could be whole again. Peppermint was one of my original rescue fosters who turned into a permanent part of my family along with Peaches who went to the Bridge last year. Now he and Peaches will be reunited.
I had Peppermint for 10 years and I think he was about 4 or 5 months when he came to me along with Peaches (who I suspect was his mother). They were such a cute pair together and I hope they will be snuggling together again.

This was how I would find Peaches and Peppermint many times – Peppermint was on top and Peaches was inside. It was so cute and, of course, they would snuggle quite a bit too.
RIP Peppermint – you were a good rabbit and I’ll miss you![]()
So sorry for your loss

I’m so sorry Mr. Peppermint has passed on, Sarita.
You are such a good bunny mom and I know how much it hurts to let them go, no matter how long we are blessed with them.
I lit a candle for him http://www.gratefulness.org/candles…d=19052916

Thank you everyone. It turned out that not only did he have the GI problems but also a lung infection and the vet gave me some options to treat the GI problem which may or may not have worked, but that didn’t treat the lung problem. He was also getting very frail from not eating and I just didn’t want to put him through a bunch of stuff at his age that may or may not have worked and didn’t solve all his issues. I also felt after 5 days his little body was shutting down. The very sad thing is that when the vet and I were petting him and saying good bye he did some tooth purrs which almost made me change my mind but I know those purrs were just in the moment – made me sad though.
Sarita, so sorry for your loss…. Peppermint was very fortunate to have such a loving and knowledgeable mommy.
Oh Sarita, I am so sorry to hear that Peppermint has left us :'( I’ve been away from the net a few days and just saw this now.
Binky free Peppermint, reunited with your dear Peaches. Watch over your human mum from the Rainbow, sweetheart.
((((((((((((((((((((Huge hugs))))))))))))))))))))) Sarita…it’s always the worst decision for us to have to make, but it’s the most selfless last gift of love we can give our dear ones. Thinking of you and sending comforting vibes your way. xx
I do apologize for my delay. I just emailed you but I also wanted to post my condolences. I echo what everyone else has said about how lucky Peppermint was to have you for 10 years. I am so sorry for your loss. I agree it is such a selfless gift of love – He is at peace now. And during his life, he obviously was loved and had a good life.
Hugs to you!
Binky Free Peppermint!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Sarita. But we all know him (and his possibly mother) had wonderful and full lives with you. <3<3
My heart goes out to you!
