He is still not eating and it’s been a week.
He is pooping mucous though which is why my vet says she thinks it might be some kind of infection – I asked if they would also do a sanitary shave down there for him as well because it’s getting very gunky and I know that cannot feel good and it smells bad too.
I started him on the metronidazole on Tuesday and I’m not certain how long it will take for the antibiotic to start working either. I’ve been hand feeding and still doing the metroclopramide shots as well.
It’s odd because he acts like he wants to eat but then he’ll just look at it (his vegetables). He is eating the critical care fine though.
He’s still lunging and biting at me though so I guess that’s a good sign.
I haven’t done the fluids though for awhile because I figured with all the medicine, handfeeding and shots it might just put him over the edge – I really should though tonight if she doesn’t do it today.
I think she will do bloodwork today – maybe that will show us something since the x-ray didn’t show a blockage just that his cecum and stomach were empty.
