i think that maybe mocha is eating all the pellets and lulu gets stuck with the greens! i  am not sure though because i am not there to watch them eat, but i am afraid mocha isn’t getting greens and lulu isn’t getting pellets! what do i do? feed them seperate?

lulus poo has always beens small and hard and mochas has always been big and moist, i didn’t really think about it untill i heard that  it mean that they might not be eating enough hay! whay do i do?

I’d seperate them for pellets, and then perhaps make 2 piles of greens as far away from each other as possible.

get them eating more hay. What time of day do you restock their rack with hay and what time do you give pellets?

You should have hay available for them all the time. It should be unlimited.

Then I think they should be fine.

Don’t feed veggies at the same time with pellets. Pellets are a processed product with a longer digestion time than veggies, and this can lead to gas.
Also, bunnies love to eat the hay as they see you fill it for them, so I recommend refreshing their supply whhen they are in their enclosure.
They should have pellets only once a day, and after they have already eaten a bunch of hay. say your rabbits wake up at noon, they will want to eat. If you give them pellets at noon, they will eat less hay after. They should have freshly stocked hay at noon or when they wake up hungry, and pellets at night after they have eaten up much of the hay. don’t feel bad not giving much pellets, over time they will get used to it. You can give veggies with hay, though.

two scoops at night is what I would do. you want these little bunnies stuffing themselves with hay instead!

                                  she means scoops of pellets.
                                  –yes, reduce the amount gradually.

i am making hay racks in a dog kennel and i have two nic grids right bye each other so i sip tied them together. i face the ends of the zip ties up so it would be were the hay is. could i cut the ends if they are facing up were the hay will be or should i leave them long? i also zip tied them to the kennel so if i faced them out of the kennel they could get scratched on the end when they are running around playing if i face them into the kennel they could get cut when they are eating. should i just leave them long? tell me if this does not make sense and i will try to re word it.

you can face them into the grids, in where the hay is but they will get nibbled off eventually. you can eliminate the zipties altogether by replacing them with thin wire that you loop at the ends to have no sharp points. Or, in a pinch, I had used two key rings to attach a grid at the bottom. It won’t be as tight but it stays up nonetheless. You can use twine… you are creative, find something.

well i am just afraid if i you some sort of stirng/twine they might chew on it and get sick… but i guess if there is hay right there they wouldn’t chose to chew on that.

they may chew it through once in a while but if you use 100% jute twine like from the dollar store, it isn’t going hurt them.

i will watch them and if they start eating it i will take it off

they seem to be a little scared of it right now and they will go in there but they aren’t relaxed like they were before i added the kennel… i hope they get used to it! how long did it take you guys to get used to it?
