My bunny gets 50 grams of pellets but I give it all in the morning,..she finishes them by afternoon. At night she gets veggies. Is that okay or should I split the pellets, half in the morning and half before I go to bed?

Zeus gets pellets three times a day, because I think it more closely resembles the grazing/foraging behavior of wild bunnies.. however, I have zero scientific proof or evidence that it is beneficial or anything.

I give my bunny her pellets in the morning (LESS than half a cup) and I prep her veggies when I get home from work and give them to her. I make sure she has a ton of hay with her til the morning.

I feed pellets twice a day. I always like to spread things out so they can eat a little bit whenever they want. When I had one bunny, he would spread his pellets out until the evening feeding, but with two, they both suck down all food as fast as they can, so I definitely think splitting it into separate feedings slows them down a bit.

She is somewhere around 7 months old.
Usually in the evening she gets like 5 more pellets and I use them to make her come back into her cage. Sometimes I split the quantity and that is when I’m home all day. But if I have to leave in noon or morning I just put it all in the morning. I dont mind spliting them up and feeding her twice BUT in the summer I’ll go on vacation for a few days and my mom is going to take care of her…I want to make it as easy as it can be to take care of my girl. Put a lot of hay and the pellets in the morning – veggies at night.

There is always hay for her. So another question..There are times that I have to leave her alone for a couple of days. I fill her water bottle, put A LOT of hay in the hay rack, a bit more pellets than usually and some fresh veggies. This has worked. But lets say I have to leave for 3 days and there is no one that can take care of the food. Usually she’s only left with hay by the night of day 2. Would it be really bad if she was on just hay for one day?

I use the cat treat balls and they are amazing! And it actually makes your rabbits work for their pellets! I also think it mimics the natural grazing since it only dispenses a little at a time and the bunny is moving to get them. It depends on the rabbit if they will eat all their pellets at once. Sully is a pig and attacks his treat ball and will keep attacking it even after there are no pellets left inside. Frankie slowly gets through his and leaves the ball alone after he’s finished. I definitely recommend them though! Maybe I will make a video one day to show how they use it.
