I just realized that Cotton has eaten 15 pounds of pellets since I got her at the end of January.

I bought her at the end of January and they said she was 2 1/2 months old.  I bought a 5lb bag of pellets from the store when I bought her.  I researched foods and then ordered 2 10lb bags of the Oxbow 15/23 pellets.  I just finished the first bag!  The dogs only got into her bowl ONCE.  She was 2 lbs when I first got her- and she has probably doubled since then.  I will have to weigh her when I get a chance.  It just seems like alot of pellets but she is a good weight now I would say- she was a bit skinny when I got her- but not terribly so.

She is a very finicky eater when it comes to veggies- she does eat them and eat a normal amount.  But to introduce anything new takes about 4 days- she will completely ignore it the first 4 days it is offered- then she will try it.  Tyical bunny she eats the stuff she likes first and then later eats the “less desirable” stuff.  She eats hay, maybe a handful or 2 a day.

I think she is not going to be happy with me when it comes time to ration the pellets.

Uh-oh…better nip this one in the bun…I mean, bud. ^^ I know what you mean, Mimzy is a pellet vacuum and I have to be VERY careful how many I let him have, because he really packs them on and I don’t want him to be so chunky I can’t find his eyes! >_<
Pip loves pellets too…funny thing happened a few weeks ago when I brought a cup of them into the xpen and she shoved her entire face into the cup and began tearing at the sides furiously with her paws. I had to pull it away quick and then she tried climbing onto my lap to get to them. She’s the same way with hay…a shame that Mimzy won’t imitate that particular quality.

Oh that is WAY too much! I have a 10 lb bag I bought in early November and have a couple weeks worth left. How much do you feed her? I give Edson (4lbs) between 1/8 to 1/4 cup daily!

i’m curious how much you feed also. do you measure them out with a measuring cup, or just fill the bowl? i don’t believe there’s any set amount dictated for a young bunny (under 7 months), but i would begin to track how much she is eating. maybe get a measure and give her a half cup and see how quickly she eats it. once you know how much she’s eating, you can discuss with your vet if they want you to start limiting it now, or wait till she’s older.

i give my bun 3/4s of a bowl (small bunny bowl) each day evenly distributed between his day time area and his night time area and he has about a cup of veg in each aswell
that does sound like alot of pellets! i wouldnt suggest u just cut the amount though, i would imagine reducing it gradually would be better for your bun, if you have a rabbit savvy vet just give them a quick call and get their advice (most wont charge for this) and you are on your way!

she is at a good weight.  My friend/who is my vet was over the other day and held her and she did not mention anything about her being heavy.

I think I am going to start measuring how much she is getting just so I get an idea how much she is eating per day.
