Awww what a cute pic!!
On a side note, and I know everyone asks this about peircings but did your nose hurt (or course it hurt but was it bad? how bout healing? and did you do it with a needle or gun? …thinking about getting that done )
lol i get asked that alot K&K! so im used to answering it no it didnt hurt actually, and i have a VERY low pain tolerance. it really didnt hurt at all. it made my eye water but thats it. They used a needle. i dont think they will do it with guns here. as for aftercare, its a little bit of a harder peircing to keep clean since its in your nose, but it healed very well and now i can switch them in and out or take the ring out for a couple hours and not have a problem getting it back in. i have had it peirced for 3 years. i also have a belly button ring, it was MUCH easier to take care of. it didnt really hurt much either.
Thanks!! Now the bf says he thinks I should do the monroe peircing instead of the nose…. *rolls eyes* men!
That is awesome!! You’re gorgeous!
There’s a very easy response to this. Tell him that you’ll get a monroe if he gets a prince albert. I know that would shut me down in a heartbeat.
I want a monroe piercing so bad!!!! i travel for work and have to wear a suit or else i would have my whole arm tatted and a monroe! lol!
i love that pic!!! that’s so sweet!!!
and tell the truth PeppersMama…
i bet you dress like a bunny EVERYDAY!
LOL Markus!! I’ll give that a go! I do like the monroe, but truth is I’m not sure about getting anymore face peircings, I have my lip and I’m not sure about more!
hahaaha beka! i would love to dress like a bunny everyday! too bad its unconventional! lol!
K&K- i dont think i could do the monroe, but i cant decide between my next peircing being my lip, eyebrow, or tounge. any opinions? lol
If I might chime in,
Personally, I’ve never been fond of lip piercings but that could just be me. They’ve tended to get in the way when kissing. I have found that women with dark hair look good with eyebrow piercings because it is accented by the darkness of the hair although the only two I have seen with them have had slightly thicker eyebrows than you do so I’m not sure.
Men love gals with tongue piercings because, well, we’re pigs. But truth be told, they don’t make a noticable ‘enhancement of intimacy’ and my one girlfriend who had a metal one would drive me crazy with the clicking of it against her teeth. But they are definitely interesting.
So my votes in order would be eyebrow, tongue, lip
I’ll share on the eyebrow, something my dentist actually told me.
Since the eyebrow is a ‘surface peircing’ your body eventually rejects it and pushes it out like a sliver. (Take time depending on how your immune system is).
Once the peircing starts to reject, take it out and let it heal. Once done, repeirce EXACTLY through the scar tissue. It will not reject this time and you can have a lifelong surface peircing that won’t reject!
I’ve had my tongue done for almost 6 years now. I like it. I stopped biting my nails once I got it done. Although I will admit, I’d never get it done again. The week of agony I went through after doing was awful. It was just a constant pain, I couldn’t eat properly, I sounded weird. Not to mention the number the Listerine did to my mouth. I was constantly rinsing to keep the piercing clean while it healed, so my mouth was raw and my lips were cracked and dry from it.
I always wear a stud with plastic ends to keep from destroying my teeth, and lord knows I’ve swallowed more than I can remember. Sometimes they break or come loose and down the hatch they go. I’m beginning to tire of it, so I’m probably going to take it out soon.
Markus- thanks for the input! its nice to have a guys point of view and i have been thinking about doing my eyebrow for a loooong time. i might just do it and if i dont like it i can always take it out! im just afraid it would hurt really bad lol!
K&K- thats a good thing to know! i knew that eyebrow peircings could get rejected, but now i know how i can keep them after they are rejected!
Hooty- my roomate has her tounge done and she swallows little plastic balls all the time lol! your not the only one!
K&K – I have nose and monroe piercings. I’ve basically run out of tasteful places at this point. They’re so small, they’re barely even noticeable. Nose was definitely the more annoying of the two to care for (I barely even felt the monroe), but if you already have your lip done, a nose piercing would balance it out more than another one in your lip region.
Also, most companies don’t really mind nose studs and will let you wear them in an office. Not so much with lip piercings of any kind. Although I’ve had luck with the monroe since the jewelry i wear is just a tiny sparkle.
Yes, I got my lip peircing about five years ago and thought I’d never be able to keep it at a real job either!
But I guess it’s discrimination? I’ve so far worked as a customer service agent in an oil company, Scheduler/supervisor in a hospital (where I work now-and was hired with pink hair to boot!), supervisor in a liquor store, a horse show groom, and a lab at an another oil company…I’ve never had anyone say anything…
Well except when I first worked in the liquor store the manager was worried if I’d be a good employee since I had the lip peircing-she admitted to me at the christmas party when she announced that she was promoting me-and put an earing on her lip to look like she had it peirced too… QUITE funny!
Haha, Canada also seems to be much more accepting of people that are “different”.
I got a lot of crap growing up, especially since I grew up in the South. But places do seem to be getting much more accepting of permanent stuff like tattoos. Pink hair would definitely not fly in most jobs in the US, even here in California! I had to go to more natural colors just to work in a laid back retail environment. The only places that really seem to allow it are “alternative” stores like Hot Topic or a record store. Boo.
nice idea to split the topic!
So i have definately decided im going to get my eyebrow done. sometime soon, when my roomie gets back. shes going to get her lip done when i get my eyebrow done. should be fun!
Sweet! I’m still undecided LOL
Anyone else have peircings/stories?
I had an eyebrow piercing for years. I was really stupid and let my friend do it with a needle and a freezie because I was 16 and I was an idiot. I took it out after about 4 years. I got bored of it.
I have a few tattoos. Two black star stencils on my hips and a black Ankh design on my lower back. If I had the $, I would have way more. I want to get the back of my neck done. I’m not into coloured tattoos, I find they often look too tacky.
I have my nose pierced; right nostril. I got it done about a year ago. The actual piercing hurt for like 2 milliseconds but after that not so bad!
I did my nose myself. It migrated so I had to take it out. I want it done again though by a professional this time, I have allergies so you can imagine how painful it was with that going on too. Maybe thats why it migrated.
allergies are better now I would like to give it another try. They are so cute and feminine. Tiny little sparkly stones. I have yet to talk hubby into me doing it again though. If I keep bugging him or jsut wait til he is away and jsut do it.
Had a naval one too. I did everything was told not to do. swam in the ocean yard work and it got dirty. It stayed infected I took it out. It was my fault I am sure.
The tongue I hear that it messes up the enamel on your teeth. Not good for you. Friend had it done hurt like the dickens. All he could eat were popsicles. Don’t know how many boxes of those things he went through
I have never been interested in piercings. I don’t even have my ears done. lol No real reason.
But those who want to get their tongues pierced- make sure you really do research. Most people don’t realize that your mouth generally is a nasty germy place and having a hole in the tongue can make you susceptible to many things. It is a perfect inlet for germs to easily get in your body.
Those with heart conditions are especially vulnerable if they have tongue peircings- I have a friend who has permanent heart damage from her tongue piercing.
That’s a good point Heidi, there are certain nerves in your tongue that if peirced can paralyze the tongue for life causing a permanent speech impediment (NOT very attractive LOL)
I have my nose done, I don’t even notice it any more & cause it’s just a tiny sparkle no one else usually does either. I worked somewhere for 8 months before they were like “Hey you got your nose pierced, you should have checked it was ok with us 1st” I actually had to show them pictures of me before working there to make them believe I’d had it in for years lol!
It hurt – I have a high pain tolerance and for me it really hurt. I think it was more how it was done than anything else, cause my friend had hers done at a different place, also with a needle & she was fine. Although her body rejected hers & boy was it disgusting to look at!
I guess the worst thing for me is spring, cause I have such bad allergies & constantly blowing your nose & rubbing it means constantly scratching the inside of your nose with the corner of the stud. No matter what stud I put in, it always happens so it’s really gross & always bleeding. Every time I blow my nose there’s all this bloody snot – not very attractive…I never blow my nose in front of people!
I got my eyebrow done!!!!!!!!!! ill post pictures tomorrow!
CoolOuch
Cool!
I’ve decided this can be an eyebrow piercing icon today – you know, like you keep trying to look at it…
LOL That is totally a eyebrow peircing icon LOL
Oops, that does look like an odd start to a new page. I wasn’t telling some random peircing story using only emoticons…I was responding to PeppersMama getting her brow done – hehehe!
It really didnt hurt at all. i was surprised. it just felt really weird. lol! but here it is! i really like it!
well, my 21 year old son just walked by and saw your photo, he said he didn’t know there were hot chicks in a “bunny forum”…..lol.
Kathy
haha thats hilarious! well good to know im a “hot chick” i guess! lol tell him thanks and im single so its too bad he lives in texas lol!
I do have to agree that piercings typically are attractive. I do really like the nose and eyebrow ones. But the tongue one-piercing a muscle? No thank you! lol
I am still not sure with the marylin piercing. I had students for clinicals at a nursing home and a gorgeous girl who worked there had one but she wasnt allowed to wear the piercing so she had some weird plastic thing shoved in the hole. lol I just starred and starred becasue I didnt understand why she had a big plastic thing hanging off her top lip! lol
Most healthcare companies will not allow piercings so that can really be a loss of $ if you change what you want to do for a living.
I spot a familiar necklace
haha yep! i loooove that necklace. i wear it all the time!
I didn’t read every post, but I do want to say that your body desn’t always reject the peircing, it all depends on his it reacts.
Also, getting your eyebrow peirced you get a line beacsue the hair will stop growing and you’ll have a bald spot
The monroe is bad for your gums, it wears them away.
And peircings really don’t hurt initially, its more or less a pinch.
I have my septum done currently, it didn’t hurt getting it done but because its so close to the bone if it gets hit it hurts pretty bad and it constantly makes your nose run
So when you’re sick, you’re out of luck!
You can really get any peircing done no matter your job, well usually, if you put a clear retainer in, then you really can’t see it.
Also, where does everyone get that rabbit neckalce from!
the necklace is from Peta.org
D&R – I have a monroe and it doesn’t affect my gums at all! The jewelry is made out of flexible plastic cut exactly to the width of my lip.
Peppers mamma, your so pretty. I generally find myself against eyebrow peircings for girls because it can look ‘cheap’ sometimes (in my opinion I hasten to add!) but it looks gorgeous on you & I find myself rethinking the whole idea
aw thankyou! i appreciate that!
