I have a similar problem where Holland Lop hops up on me and pees on my lap. Sometimes I think it is because he doesn’t want to cross the kitchen floor to get back to his hutch (litterbox, bathroom). Other times I think its to tell me something, but I have not clue what that something would be.
I think he pees on things to spite me sometimes. For instance, last night, I groomed him and he was not very impressed. Although I think he liked it, it was a new experience for him and not entirely on his terms. I should mention he is neutered and about 4.5 months old. Right after this, he left the room we were in and went to a boot tray we keep by the front door. I had just broke him of peeing in it and he was doing excellent about leaving it alone. Normally I wouldn’t have followed him, but was going to put away some of the grooming supplies. That’s when I saw him hop over and use the (off limits) boot tray. He knew I could see him, but that was him showing me who was in charge I think. Bunny talk for, “you can’t just groom me buddy…I do what I want.”
I put him right in his hutch. Playtime was over. I will say that limiting playtime does seem to curb his behavior. I think most owners would see the same results. Although he is still kinda young which may attribute the crime and punishment. Teenagers…
Just wish I could figure out why he pees on ME!!!
