So, this is the second time he has peed on me.  First time we were laying on the couch for a good while, and I was on and off petting him, we were just lounging.  He was sitting on the couch cushion and I was laying next to him.  Tonight he was in my lap and I was grooming him for a while, then boom in my lap!  Is he showing discontent or just he couldnt hold it any longer?

He is not completly litter trained, and has only been in the xpen a few days now from his cage.  Neither time did he seem angry.  This time I was brushing him a bit and he might have been getting annoyed, or he was just antsy because he realllly had to go.  I’m not sure what to think.  Any ideas?  He is about 5 months old.

He most likely is claiming his territory… you.

Is he neutered? He is at the perfect age to be. It will help with his habits.

No he isnt, not yet. I took him to the vet I took my cat to, its not that I’m dissatisfied with them, just not overly satisfied. The only oxbow vet is about 35 miles away. I want to find one that has more experience and knowledge with rabbits, just for future visits, so I would feel more comfortable. I suppose the only way to find one is calling and asking if they see alot of rabbits lol.

Hrm, ok, so I found one who says they do alot of exotics. It is either the same thing as the SPCA or at the same place. They say they are a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Is this some hogwash or is it a legitimate deal. I mean, this AEMV, is getting to be a member just a mail in registration lol. I dunno. What say you.

I am unfamiliar with AEMV- have you conacted them to find out what their qualifications are? Oxbow vet? You mean a vet that carries Oxbow products?

Actually I went back to the oxbow website, your right those arent oxbow vets, just ones who sell/recommend oxbow products. At first I thought it there were actual oxbow certified vets or something. My mistake!

Go to house rabbit society and use their questionaire for vets to find a good one – do NOT take any vets word on that they “see a lot of exotics” … the one in my town I called that said that knew NOTHING about rabbits when I started asking question even though “we see them all the time”. Make sure they know what antibiotics are dangerous and that rabbits dont need to be fasted before surgery.

But, commonly you have to drive a while to get to a good exotic vet. Mine is about 45 miles away.

(I would link the site for you but my nets not working well atm and won’t load the website :s)
