I’m not sure who started it (probably Pinky) but the two buns keep peeing in the same corner on my floor. I blocked off my vanity with an x pen cause I keep their pellets under there and they try to steal them. And Pinky has chewed the leg of my vanity trying to get them…

Muffin’s litter habits were great when he was in his own pen and only peed in my room once because I put a new pet bed down (so of course he had to pee on it). Pinky did pee in my room once but he’s not great with his litter habits. So I think he started it then they have to pee on top of each other’s pee. But I’ve been cleaning it and putting the pee paper towel in the litter box, then cleaning the spot on the floor with vinegar+water. They just keep peeing there. I don’t want to have to put a litter box there cause it’ll take up space and I stand there to do my makeup. I just don’t know why they keep peeing there… Maybe I should block that space off for a bit?

I’d try blocking it off. It may put a stop to their obsession with the spot. I blocked off the sofa when my bun was obsessing about going up there to pee. When I unblocked itafter a few weeks, it was like he had forgotten all about it. At first he did try try to break through the blockage though, it took him a day or two to realize that it wasn’t possible.

I had this same issue with a previous pair, Bertha and Moose. I even tried an extra box… then they would pee next to it!

What finally worked was I cleaned the area with Nature’s Miracle Carpet shampoo and an oxygen-based cleaner (I blocked the area while it was drying). I realized the vinegar smell was building up in the area so I think they had actually started marking to cover up the vinegar!

So I would try blocking the area and cleaning with an enzyme cleaner as well!

Thanks guys! Interesting to know you had the same issue. Bunnies can be weird lol. I blocked it off! 🙂 I hope they don’t start peeing in front of that spot now lol.

It’s quite common for rabbits to get an idea in their head and start obsessing. I don’t know why. Maybe its that determination that enables them to build their extensive, multi-level warrens in the wild. They start digging in one spot and dont stop until they’re done 😃

They do get obsessed over their “projects”!

It’s also not uncommon for there to be an uptick in marking in newly bonded pairs, that should go down once they settle in. I’ve seen it described as them defending their new turf from any unwanted newcomers.
