  For the last 3 or 4 days I have found cecotropes in the litter box and I was not sure who was dropping them but today I saw that it was Pebbles. Should I worry that she isn’t eating them?
  
  I feed her and Flin unlimited hay, pellets which are out all day and carrot tops and kale.
  Her pellets are a mixture of ordinary bunny pellets and the variety packs of ‘gourmet’ bunny food.

  Changing her diet fixed everything. If you have an older rabbit, carrots are a bad idea along with other foods that are fairly rich.

  The gourmet bunny food has some oat seeds and other pellets that are green and some that are red (not sure what’s in them to be honest) and some corn kernels

  I would eliminate that all together and just feed plain old pellets. None of the stuff in the gourmet blend is good for her.

  I stopped the Wal-Mart blend with all the dried carrots and yummy stuff. Those were all Velvet would eat anyway. Since then no more soft stinky cecals have been found. She was a little [stinker] about eating the plain Oxbow pellets for a while. Now I put about a 1/8 cup on her favorite sitting rug and 1/8 cup on her bed. They dissapear every night so unless my cat’s eating them or we have mice, I think it’s Velvet, but this has cured those nasy uneaten cecals, they sure are messy! She uses her litter box much more for hard poop too now! Good girl!
  
  She has a huge 4ft X 2 ft litter box in the basement (man cave, and 2 corner boxes upstairs in our living room, since the change in pellets and fresh Timothy hay instead of bailed alfalfa from MN fields she’ a pretty easy bunny to take care of. I have a ziplock bag of dried bananas and about 3 times a day she come up and asks for them, I unzip the bag, she crawls inside and grabs one, then runs off, comes back for more though, lol

  Thanks so much, I took your advice and am only feeding her pellets, hay and fresh veg (that she’s had before). She still isn’t eating her cecotropes though, should I take the pellets away and only feed her them at night and in the morning? Because right now they’re out all day. Should I be worried that she isn’t eating them?

  Pebbles is about 6 months right? Have you checked out the HRS diet guide? They have on there how many pellets to feed according to what age. I find for myself it’s just easier to give half the allotment in the morning and half at night if you’re going to limit her pellet intake. I honestly think the main problem is that the mix you were giving her had corn in it. Corn is not very good rabbits its extremely sugary. The plain pellets should have Pebbles back to normal. =]

  She might be eating quite enough of her cecotrophes and you don’t see her eating it, the cecotrophes you find may be excess ones due to too rich food. My rabbit had that same thing when I gave him some sort of de luxe-rabbit-blend with all kinds of yummie stuff in it. So tasty, and so bad for him, like raising a kid on candy =)
  
  It’s stopped since I began giving him cunicomplete and owbow-pellets instead. Not as delicious but keeps the stomach in good order. I still give him dried apple-slices as treats sometimes.

  That’s exactly what I was going to say. Velvet was producing too many too eat, not anymore changing her diet stopped that problem, there are none anymore that I find.
