So I am curious as to how many people feed their buns papaya enzyme tablets? I’m considering starting both my hubbys male flemmie and my female flemmie on them but i am not sure as to what brand is best for them. Also I’m unsure as to if it’s appropriate for how young they are? Both are 15 weeks old and unaltered as of right now. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone ?

I give mine papaya enzyme tablets. I started them on them about the same time they started molting. They absolutely love them and get so excited when I grab the bottle. I use American Health brand chewable tablets. I think the important thing is to read the ingredients and make sure they all are bunny safe and I’m bunny safe quantities

I use Sherwood Forest digestive tabs which have papaya enzyme and vitamin B. I give them to Lancelot. I dont use them for the other bunnies. I did see papaya enzyme tablets at Walmart. Interested to hear what benefits others see in their healthy bunnies. I use the Sherwood tablets for Lancelot to keep his digestive system i ngood shape and to help his appetite. He is very underweight.

My girls aren’t great hay eaters. They eat their hay but they just don’t eat what I feel is enough. So I’m alway worried about hair balls causing blockages since they can’t vomit their hair balls like a cat would. Papaya has enzymes that help to break hair balls down. I’ve even read articles that suggest giving your rabbits papaya supplements daily (in addition to plenty of fresh hay) to help reduce the risk of hair ball blockages even more.

The reasons Quinn listed are the reasons why I’m thinking of starting my little guys on papaya tablets. It was an article on house rabbit society recommending that they get fed papaya enzyme tablets daily.
