Panicky bun due to an earthquake?

Okay, for some background, we had a 3.6 earthquake at 5 AM, and it could be felt here. We don’t typically have earthquakes here (I can only remember ever having 1 that could be felt before, at least 6 years ago). I woke up thinking an F-22 was flying over my house, since I lived near an AFB for a year, and went back to sleep. Either the earthquake was bad enough to knock over Stormy’s bag of Oxbow, or he panicked and rattled his cage enough to knock it over.

 Ever since we had the earthquake almost 20 hours ago, Stormy’s been in a panic, and I can’t seem to calm him down. He’s usually eager to be petted but he won’t let me touch him. He won’t leave the 2nd floor of his cage (fortunately, that’s the one with all his food and such) when he usually bounces up and down the floors. He’s having a thumpfest in there, and I’m afraid he’s going to hurt his little paws. He IS eating, but very little. 

Any ideas to calm him down?

Do you have Bach’s Rescue Remedy or perhaps some lavender aromatherapy oil? Or is it at least something you can get a hold of?
Both are known to calm down animals.

I think perhaps, I would cover up a bit of the condo, where he is hiding, so it feels like an underground tunnel. That might make him feel more calm.

Also, once the quakes pass, it will help. We had a big earth quake here last year or so, and my cat felt it about 30 seconds before it came. He panicked completely and when I ran over to him to figure out what was wrong and calm him down, then it came. So animals can sense these things so much better than we can, and the earth is still unstable after the quake, so perhaps he can feel this.

I never can figure out the time of the posts here, so I don’t know if I am days behind with my advice. But if you live in an area with quakes, it might be a good idea to stock up with rescue remedy at least

That’s the thing, we’re NOT in a place that gets many earthquakes. The last one happened like 6 years ago, and the previous one before that happened in like 96 or 97. And the quake was completely alone, no aftershocks.
I have diluted lavendar oil in a little spray bottle. I guess I’ll try spraying some in his water. Here’s hoping that helps. He still won’t let me touch him.
