Not sure if I totally mentioned this but Pacino (scarface ) had some scars on him that looked like he was attacked by a dog or cat. We were closely checking him and one is absessed, and there’s quite a mass under it. So he’s at the vets today in surgery as we speak. She’s going to try to scrape it but the whole area may need to be exised. Let you know how it goes!! Vibes for Pacino please

                  Thanks everyone! We’re home now!

Well, Pacino was going to go back to the shelter tonight but I leave no excuse to bring animals home un-turned. The vet said it’d be best if he’s monitored for 24 hours, so I said I’d bring him home tonight-luckily Dave’s having a nap right now I’ll let you know how long it takes him to notice!!

So Pacino made it through the surgery in flying colors. It was going to be an absess drain, under anastetic but the mass was so large she went right for surgery. She said she went at it like it was a tumour and excised the whole thing, which was actually about two-three inches in diameter!! So pretty major surgery. He did well though.

He was very nervous at the vets and peed on his legs though Poor little guy! He’s also on Baytril twice a day for two weeks! I’ve settled him in a quiet corner with Chuck (he’s in a large carrier of course, doesn’t need Rupert of Kahlau bothering him!) so he can see Chuck and maybe be calmer. I gave him some greens and carrots and water, turned the lights very low and draped a sheet over the carrier.
I’ll let him settle for a couple of hours then do the baytril and maybe syringe him some water and critical care depending on if he’s eating and drinking.

                  Thanks for all the vibes!!

aww – how sweet it is great that you have a supportive S.O. ! I’m glad you were able to get Pacino the help that he needed – 2-3 inches is HUGE, poor guy.
