I have had my bunnies 9 weeks they are 17wk old and they were outside in a 2 tier hutch separated,(boy/girl) i felt really sorry for them so i went and got 2 big indoor cages they are now living in the room under stairs. They have plenty of time out of the cage at different times seen as though they cant be together! I still let them have a run around the garden aswell as indoors. The female seems to be fine shel come jump on sofa seems to have settled right in! The male has always been shy wont let you get too close as soon as he sniffs you he runs away, but hes always chewing, ragging at the cage when hes in. Hes got toys to chew plenty of space so im just worried that he doesnt like it inside?

My bunny does this too when he wants to come out. He will also do it at the ONE area he isn’t allowed in when he is already out! So he likely just wants to run around and explore, not necessarily that he doesn’t like being inside.

He may have done the same thing outside but you weren’t there to hear it (or he didn’t because there was no one there to respond to). He also sounds like he might be hitting hormonal teenager phase?

Can you give him a little more space? Maybe a penned area attached to his cage that he has access to 24/7?

Buns are very good at convincing us to spoil them. :p
