Yesterday I finally finished a proper cover for my rabbits’ outdoor exercise pen.

I cover it with grass and branches to hide the buns from birds, but for the photos I left it bare.

this is the corner where I can climb in, as the pen has no gate. I will get a better board in the future!

I have to step on this cement brick to be able to get in… but I am glad the pen is quite high.

wow, they have a whole yard, that is cool. I like using the chicken wire for the roof, it would be lighter to handle.

At first glance I thought little Neigey was sitting on top!

What are the sides made of? That looks spectacular! Max and Mead want to come over for a play date.

That is very cool! Maybe you should turn the brick over so that the flat side is on top – I’d be scared you would accidentally stick your foot in the hole and hurt yourself. That climb over would be to precarious for me anyway. Are you planning on doing a safer set of stairs for yourself?

Looks great, you should get a little stepping stool maybe for getting in an out. Must be a huge pain trying to get each in and out. Or do you put them in a carrier and mvoe them?

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I need to improve the way for me to get in. I only have to climb over the aluminum siding once, at night, when I come to collect them. In the morning I just drop their shuttle basket in and lift it out after they hop on their way. It takes me no time at all to climb over but a proper step would be in order… will have to fashion something.

Here is the top with the camouflage added to hide them as we do have eagles here.

                          from inside

the grass of course dries out which is also a bonus. I can feed it as hay.

haha, with Neigey you never know… maybe he IS sitting on top!

I like the branches and grass! A bonus too that you can then feed it to them once it is dry! No birdies are getting in there!

no, it’s not hot, here but in August it will be. Right now, they can go out daily.
